* Second milestones assume you were born at 00:00 on your birth date and use 86,400-second days, so the time is approximate. Month milestones use real calendar months (31 January + 1 month = 28/29 February). You've lived 12,621 days so far.

How it works

How days lived are counted

Days lived is the exact number of calendar days between your birth date and today, in your own time zone. Your birth day is day 0, so the day after you were born you were 1 day old. Leap days are included automatically.

Weeks are whole 7-day blocks of that count. Hours, minutes and seconds need a time of birth, which a date doesn't include — so they assume you were born at midnight and are labelled as approximate.

The 10,000-day milestone arrives at about 27 years and 4 months old. It's simply your birth date plus 10,000 days, so it lands on a different date for everyone.

Worked examples. Calculated as of 3 October 2026.

Why not just multiply my age by 365?
Because leap years add a day roughly every four years. Counting real calendar days is exact.
When am I 10,000 days old?
Enter your birthday above — the milestones table shows the exact date, along with 5,000, 15,000 and 20,000 days.
Does the count change at midnight?
Yes, at midnight in your own time zone. Leave the page open and it rolls over by itself.
Is my birthday stored?
No. Everything is calculated in your browser and forgotten when you close or reload the page.

Methodology

How the numbers are calculated

Every result is labelled: exact calendar arithmetic, an approximation that depends on a stated assumption, or an estimate based on an average.

Exact calendar age

Years are counted birthday by birthday, then whole calendar months, then the remaining days — never by dividing days by 365. Months that are shorter than your birth day (say, the 31st) end on their last day.

Days, weeks and seconds

Days lived is the exact number of calendar days from your birth date to today in your own time zone. Hours, minutes and seconds assume you were born at midnight, because a date alone has no time.

Milestones

Milestone dates are your birth date plus an exact number of days, weeks (7 days), calendar months, or seconds. A billion seconds is about 31.7 years.

Leap years and 29 February

Gregorian rules: every 4th year is a leap year, except century years not divisible by 400 — so 2000 was a leap year, 1900 was not. A 29 February birthday is observed on 28 February in other years.

Around the Sun

Distance uses Earth's average orbit — about 940 million km per trip around the Sun. It's Earth's path relative to the Sun, so it's an estimate, not a precise measurement of your motion through space.

Moon cycles and body estimates

Lunar cycles use the average lunar month of 29.53 days. Heartbeats, breaths and sleep use fixed averages (72 beats/min, 15 breaths/min, 8 hours a night) — illustrations, not health information.

Supported dates: 1 January 1900 to today. Spotted something that looks wrong? Send feedback.
